About me
Matteo Ruzdijic
Mechatronics & Robotics Engineering Student, 3rd Year, Queen's University
I'm a third-year Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering student at Queen's University, passionate about real-world robotic automation, quadrupedal and bipedal robotics, and finding new ways to solve existing problems.
I've built projects ranging from a small-scale block-sorting arm to an autonomous ROS 2 rover with LiDAR and SLAM mapping, and I'm now developing a high-torque, cycloidal-gearbox robotic arm that gives independent researchers a low-cost, easy-to-build option. Robots aren't everything I do, either. I've also explored art-driven builds, like a functional display droid for my smart device.
Outside of projects, I run Queen's Relectric, the university's EV team, which strips gas vehicles down to the studs and rebuilds them with EV technology. I joined as a general assembly member on a 1990s Jeep conversion, became Assembly Lead for our first high-speed EV go-kart, and I'm now Co-Captain, overseeing 100+ members and 7 leads. It's taught me as much about public speaking and project management as it has about engineering.
Looking ahead, I want to keep building my mechanical and electrical engineering skills, whether through personal projects or another internship. If you want to chat or learn more, reach out by email or connect with me on LinkedIn. I'm always happy to connect!
Data Management & Technical Consulting Intern
Peloton Computer Enterprises · Summer 2026
This past summer I worked at Peloton Computer Enterprises, where I built data management skills and worked directly with clients on their acquisitions, merging the assets and data that came with the networks they acquired into their own systems.
I was assigned to the ProdView team, where I learned the importance of data management and organization in the oil and gas industry, and studied the data model behind the applications. My work was a mix of historical and transactional loads and network configurations, and I built up my skills in Power BI and a looottt of Excel along the way.
I also developed documentation on Peloton's applications and created training guides. It was an opportunity to learn that data is key, all while producing documentation along the way.
